DAY TO DAY ISSUES IN THE GARDEN

Hi there, some of the soil in my troughs have a green tinge to it. it's only on the surface but is affecting both indoor and outdoor veggies, but only in some containers, does anyone know what is causing it and will it damage my veggies.

This sounds like an algae. I've had trouble with this on a brand of compost I've bought this spring (and won't be getting again!). Make sure you don't over-water the plants, as this will make matters worse. You could try scraping off the surface layer, but if it's the compost, it will be right through.

Bazza reckons that its just a combination of too much water and sunlight, Nothing to do with bad compost. You get the same effect on patios for example a green slime algae.
